Never used them myself but other videos I found make these seem very much like a children’s PE class / therapeutic kind of thing. Hopefully some kind Germans can enlighten us on the use case of Pedalos

I’m in South East Asia, seen them in different countries here, mostly in malls but even in my current apartment building. Feels very Cyberpunk even just walking by and hearing it.
Beats the ads on screens I see playing in many elevators…
DashboTreeFrog@discuss.onlineto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•*Permanently Deleted*English7·2 months agoI’m taking a sick day too. Except for the first time in nearly a decade, my current employer doesn’t require a doctor’s note for anything less than 3 days.
Honestly, most doctors just give you a note if you go in no matter what anyway, so I’ve always felt that it’s more about your workplace tracking you than trying to make sure you’re alright. The need for a doctor’s note doesn’t hold up to scrutiny. Sucky, relatable situation, you got my sympathy
But that’s not a pipe

Not me, I’m on a whole other continent, watching the blaze, hoping it doesn’t spread too far.

Google has open-sourced the Pebble software, which means anyone — including Pebble’s founder — can make one.English6·4 months agoI’ve made many posts on many platforms wondering the same thing, especially for something like a watch that you want to be always on. Sure, amoled exists, but isn’t e-paper much better for that use case?
I’m even daily driving an e-paper android tablet for notes and reading and it’s awesome. A charge lasts me over a week with heavy use.
Also, not entirely sure of the exact tech for the original pebble, was it TFT? The RePebble site linked by OP talks about e-paper but maybe that’s just what they want going forward

Perfect with notifications, good battery life, easy controls, beautifully efficient e-paper screen. Can’t wait to see what they do now!

You already can!

Like a savory pastry maybe? Then again I’m also the kind of deviant who loves olives.
I used to be like this but then started pre-deciding items that would be just plastered with stickers so I can just buy whatever cool stickers I want, knowing there’s a place for them.
My water bottle and laptop for example are now covered in stickers

This claim is mostly false. The photograph was actually part of an artwork by Yoshio Itagaki in 2005, which in itself is a commentary satirizing the urban legend of a Japanese department store misinterpreting Christmas. The photograph has been used out of context and spread alongside the claim it aimed to critique.
Basically a Japanese artist creating satire I guess?
The fact that I’m learning this from your comment enhances this meme
