  • Layering with rpm-ostree isn’t a big deal, it’s designed to be used. Flatpak -> ujust -> rpm-ostree, for looking for programs. It also has a manager for .appimage, so those are easy to use as well.

For your Razer, there’s a ujust for it. I personally prefer chromatic or whatever its called. But both use openrazer for backend, which is a layered package.

My favorite cool app is cavalier (flatpak), and before that just cava. A nice visualizer for my sound on my second monitor. I’m a bit of an audiophile, and seeing the live bars bounce based on frequency is always so cool to me.

  • There’s something that broke/bugged launchers starting in Android 13 that launchers have “fixed,” despite people still complaining. Sometimes you go to your task viewer to switch to, or close some apps; sometimes the card/app you wanted would be transparent, and would lock up and freeze the phone. The Only fix is to use the side button to lock the phone, then unlock and close the app/tab. This happened to me on all launchers, betas included, until Lawnchair 14. It’s been too long since I did OG Lawnchair from an app store, but this new one has things like supporting icons dynamically changing colors with material you. I personally like material you, and using their second app Lawnicons has been refreshing. Every other launcher would fail to color/theme some icons, or not change colors with a new wallpaper, etc. Not to mention it still feels super fast and slick to use.

  • I know android TV and Roku have jellyfin apps. But I would stay far away from LGs WebOS, and I haven’t heard of Tizen.

Id honestly buy w/e tv you think looks the best quality wise, then add a media player. For ease of use Nvidia shields are fantastic and run android TV, and work wonders with steam link.

What I did was a Sony OLED which has android TV and is fast enough to use streaming apps with little annoyance. And then I bought an odroid n2+ and installed coreELEC to use Kodi to stream media locally without needing to transcode. Then use jellyfin for if I want to stream outside the house.

Sadly my setup doesn’t have a solid Steam Link option, as the Sony TV isn’t powerful enough and there’s a delay in controller input and what you see on TV.

^ Hopefully some good ideas for you ^
