Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Traffic cameras have caught a white RAM 1500 pickup truck driving above the speed limit or running red lights more than 547 times since 2022. It belongs to an NYPD cop.English

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is it rude to go through the car wash with a bunch of snow on your car?
2·3 months agoAhh okay yeah if you just have like a little snow on top after you’ve brushed it then thats nothing to worry about. The car wash might have just been trying to get at the dirt underneath the ice and thats why they took more time

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is it rude to go through the car wash with a bunch of snow on your car?
391·3 months agoLess rude and more potentially dangerous tbh. The metal of the roof will conduct just enough heat to melt the snow into a thin sheet of water and the second you stop or slow down a little too hard all of the snow on your roof is now obstructing your front view. For the sake of yourself and everyone else you share the road with please brush off any significant snow on top of your vehicle before you start moving

Count of Monte Cristo is great but it was a bit of a slog at times if I’m honest. Granted last time I read it it was for school and I had to plow through all 650 pages or so in less than a week because I put it off til the last second

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Do you ever feel like your life is "scripted"? Like everything is written by some entity controlling your life? Like you live in a fictional universe? Is this feeling normal/common?
2·6 months agoNot so much scripted as just I can logically follow where I was to where I am and infer where I’m going next. There’s surprises to be sure but there’s only so many way things can happen given the parameters of a story you’re very familiar with
