I don’t follow any News sources so most of my News just comes from Social Media (I do try to factcheck tho) and most of the things that I actually see are American Politics, I heard about the Israel Gaza conflict existing that was all really.

Well, it’s been a very big topic in American politics since Oct. 7th, as the majority of Americans have now become aware that Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinians with our tax dollars, and most of our politicians are complicit. Even the right-wing has largely woken up to this, though there is some extra baggage in their case.

Do I interact with other people? Yes? Do I have friends who I can/do talk to about politics? I wish.

We consider it inpolite to talk world politics with friends here. That’s news stuff, not person stuff.

Curious! Since politics is such an important part of your life, if not the most important, how do you reason for not discussing it? I mean, if you let the news define your opinions?

Well ok. We do talk about it but you’re close then. And idle. Similiar to talk about the weather but with more conflict potential.

Maybe because we have a lot of cultures and lifestyles in a close space. There would be no end to conflicts if not for the, uh, “good swiss compromise” (gut-schweizerischer Kompromiss).

(I accidentally deleted the parent comment. How to undelete in voyager?)

Oh okay. So no deeper discussions unless you’re like family? Interesting, we also like to compromise and avoid conflicts, but politics are not generally avoided (some do of course) even at work.
