The BrickLink website, which now has apparently been subsumed by LEGO, requires your birth year to enter – you can’t enter at all if you input a year.
I don’t know you, but I refuse to give this kind of information. So bye bye BrickLink!
I contacted their customer service and told them that I’ll simply avoid the BrickLink website if it requires my birth year. Their loss.
If you also disagree with this I encourage you to get in touch with them as well.

The first and best thing to remember about this sort of thing is that you don’t need to give it accurate info.
I’m glad the privacy movement is so strong here on lemmy, but I feel this is pretty extreme for something so small.
Additionally, have you tried blocking that using uBlock Origin’s element picker? Good chance you can do that and still use the site normally.
Thank you for the suggestions. I simply won’t use the website; I was just curious about it.
This is small indeed, but I believe that if we don’t make ourselves heard, also in the small things, then they’ll just do as they please.
