I had a “wall mounted” monitor where the wall mount was it hanging off a screw in the wall via a loop of fishing line I found on the beach. It hung like that happily for five years until I sold the apartment.

EDIT: It held the monitor up by weaving the fishing line loop through the plastic vent grill in the back of the monitor.
