The largest piracy community is hosted over at !piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com
lemmy.world has blocked it. It appears to have also blocked !piracy@lemmy.ml.
If this is a problem for you, I’d suggest migrating accounts using LASIM to an instance that doesn’t block it (such as lemm.ee).
edit:
An official announcement has been made:
How does this work? I thought only users can block specific communities. My account is on Lemmy.world, but if I’m reading community on lemmy.dbzer0.com, that stuff is stored their server, so why does lemmy.world lock me out of reading it?
Federation means that no, the stuff is stored on many servers. You aren’t reading another lemmy instance, but what that instance sent to lemmy.world. ergo, that stuff is on lemmy.world too. Hence why they want to avoid the lawyers.
Ok, that makes sense I thought it works as completely separate instances.
You are not reading content from lemmy.dbzer0.com unless you specifically have only that at the beginning of the address. If you have lemmy.world instead, it means you are trying to view content cached there, which no longer exists.
