If they’re exclusively supporting the right wing candidate, they’re not a centrist, then

Why are you unwilling to enlighten us?
This list isn’t by percentage with a home - it excludes people who rent, so all this shows is that nobody rents their home in China
I kinda disagree - that’s not to say that they don’t usually do so for illegitimate reasons (or that these bans are legitimate), but there’s plenty of valid reasons why a government would want/need to ban a platform
X, for example, has been giving the UK a whole lot of good reasons why they may wish to consider it (restoring the accounts of people like Tommy Robinson, allowing misinformation, the owner of the platform himself actively spreading that misinformation)
The words in the middle are the key difference, though:
Communities are groups
Communities involve (i.e. are not) topics
Communities involve (i.e. are not) individuals
The social structure of Lemmy is fundamentally centred on groups, and that’s what makes it distinct from other fediverse platforms, even if there is some interoperability
This is a knife and fork burger if I’ve ever seen one
Imo the second season gets even better, I’m obsessed rn
I put my steel in the fridge and it’s completely dried out now
Granted, it wasn’t very wet when it went in
Presumably what the other commenter was referring to is the US having the oldest codified constitution
I thought it looked like a stealthy power ranger
“generally speaking” as in “I pulled this stat out of my ass”
Calling you a russian bot isn’t exactly a liberal policy, is it?
If your reasoning for determining someone is “a lib” is saying that, then that’s exactly how you’re using the term.
The fact you immediately assumed I was a capitalist is a pretty compelling argument that you’re not good at determining people’s ideologies based on their unrelated complaints about your bad takes
Criticising liberal policy is absolutely reasonable
Using “the libs” as a catch-all term for “anyone I disagree with” is the marker of an incoming terrible take
Didn’t mention capitalism, and I consider myself a socialist, but go off
Word “libs” in first 5 words, opinion rejected
Or - get this - it’s because I’m from a country where having more guns than citizens isn’t considered normal.
Children aren’t old enough to vote, why the fuck would you think it’s a good idea to give them easy access to ranged, deadly weapons?
“Gunphobic” is an absurd term, because a phobia implies an irrational fear, so fearing misuse of objects explicitly created for killing things isn’t exactly a “phobia” so much as it is a legitimate concern for the country with the 2nd highest rate of firearm homicides per capita on the planet.
In my country, we don’t do “school shooting drills”. We don’t need to.
Oh sure, there’s definitely lots of valid criticism of rainbow capitalism, but to be clear, it’s not pride month itself that’s the issue there - it’s corporations leveraging it for profit
Of course, the solution to children using deadly weapons is to give them to more children. Genius!
But the serious answer is because LGBTQ people have been systemically discriminated against in pretty much every country
Literally the next thing in my All feed is about the previous US president having a chill time with a man who proposed stoning gay people to death
You can’t possibly make a reasonable argument that Kamala Harris is a fascist lmao
