  • I don’t spend time working with LLMs. I’d agree we have additional features. For example I think while the computers currently can guess, we can guess and check in a meaningful way. But that’s not what the meme was about. I would argue the meme was barely about anything other than “ai bad, me smort”. Ironic since the LLM could probably make a better one even if it “doesn’t understand”, whatever understand is.

The thing in the right is also a glorified prediction engine. I suppose whoever made this is steeped in religious dogma but humans aren’t that advanced either. We just predict things.

Inb4 the advanced fat-based brains brigade me using their advanced fat-based prediction engines 🙄

  • Lemmy as a whole is very pro-valve to the point I think some of them want to fuck the CEO. It stands in stark contrast with Lemmy’s general anti-billionaire vibe. “He’s one of the good ones” or, in my more extreme exaggerated version, “man I want to lick that guy’s feet”.

Admittedly if you’re not in the gaming sublemmits it won’t make that much sense. But lemmy is generally very anti-yacht-owner so the sycophants stand out.

  • True, it’s just that there doesn’t seem to be a diagnostic for like, what’s the level of selectivity. For example the wiki says they have people go through a list of common foods and ask if you won’t eat it.

I personally am weird about food so I can readily see why this wouldn’t work well for someone like me. If you asked me “do you eat onions” I’d say no, but of course onion powder is fine and heavily caramelized onions are fine (think french onion soup), but I find shoving raw or undercooked onions in salad for example to be absolutely disgusting and I don’t know why people would do that. So I have a lot of rules, but the rules are specific preferences based on the specific, prepared item.

In contrast I also won’t eat any form of oysters or mussels or anything like that because I just find them to be gross creatures which is probably more akin to the neophobia thing. I’ve never had them and have no intention of doing so.

But push comes to shove this is really just: I don’t like one uncommon food and I don’t like some forms of onions. Which isn’t that restrictive. I know many people who call me picky, I just call it knowing what I won’t eat.

  • Define “picky eater”.

I’ve had people who seem to think disliking any food makes you a picky eater. This seems to be the category the original creator is in. Those people are often the same category of people I never want to see eating because they look like pigs at the trough, shoving food into their mouth at an alarming rate while almost forgetting to breathe, more like animals than humans. But that’s not universal, just common.

In reality I don’t know many people who universally enjoy every food as an adult. So is everyone picky?
