My brother went to the same gas station in a small town, every day. Knew the staff by name. Went there for years.

One morning he pumps a few bucks of gas, then absentmindedly drives away.

Now I get it, a drive off is a drive off, and the cashier ain’t gonna lose his job. But it was like $10, in a small town (two stoplights), he knew these guys, they knew him. Float my bro $10 and figure it out later.

But no, they called the cops, sent officers to my grandma’s house trying to find him, almost gave her a heart attack.

He never went back after that. Which was a maybe a little extreme.

But listen, this is the type of town, and my family was the friendly trustworthy type, such that I’ve overdrafted at the bank by a few bucks, and had the cashier catch it and put her own money to cover me. They knew my mom better than me, but still.

Also ADHD here, but perhaps a different blend? At any rate, I function 🤷‍♂️

I was a heavy coffee drinker until they found my heart defect.

Now I have no caffeine, doctor’s orders, for 22 ish years now.

Sometimes I’ll sneak a sip of coffee if I have a migraine, it helps. But God help me I won’t sleep that night.

You don’t realize how much of a tolerance to and a dependence on caffeine that you build up, until you’re off of it for awhile, and try some again.

It really has a powerful effect on you, even if you don’t realize it right now.

If I drank an energy drink right now, after being dry for so long, my heart would definitely race and I doubt I’d sleep for two days.

I don’t miss caffeine though, honestly. I don’t wake up tired anymore, I just, wake up. And drink some water 🤷‍♂️ then go to work, feeling fine. Not amazingly energized, but not dragging either… Just… Normal 🤷‍♂️

Caffeine is a drug like anything else. If you can get off the stuff for awhile, say 6 months? I bet you’ll be amazed at how you feel, and you won’t go back.

I’ve only had an ender 3, been printing on and off since 2019. At some point I have it to my buddy and got a 3v2.

I know I should upgrade, but for my limited needs, I just haven’t needed to 🤷‍♂️

I print mostly PETG for functional parts, a little PLA for random stuff.

I enjoy printing, and it’s useful. But some months see no printing at all. Maybe that’d be different if the machine was less of a hassle to use.

Compounding the issue, most of the time my machine has not had a full time home on any desk. So I have to pull it out and set it up. But we just moved and now there’s room, I just haven’t configured the space yet.

We’ll see.

Always down for recommendations though, for a similar print volume and reasonable price point. Ie not prusa, as awesome as that would be.

How’s the ring?

My buddy just got one and he had a lot of false presses at first. I haven’t checked in with him in awhile though

I don’t have any training or schooling in it, at all, I just enjoy computers since I was young 🤷‍♂️

Restaurant opened up in town, we went in the first week, service was horrible, like unbelievably so, and not just to me. It’s a long story.

I get it, new business has growing pains. But it was bad enough I needed to leave a bad review. My plan was to update it if/when we came back and it was better. Or if the business commented on it apologizing for the way we were treated.

Instead, I watched that place get like 30 5 star reviews in an hour flat. And I don’t mean several good reviews, with a mix of stars and praise. I mean 30 solid 5 stars, with ALL the subcategories lit up with solid 5 stars as well, and glowing, wordy reviews.

No way. Absolutely no way could that be the case. I talked to other friends who went on different days, they had better experiences than me, but they all had different issues, nobody was giving a glowing review. One other buddy also got snubbed the same way I did and left a 1 star as well.

Funny thing? All the one star reviews had hearts on them, almost like people were trying to boost them up in the sea of 5 star reviews.

It was the craziest thing I’d ever seen. That company saw the 1 stars rolling in, and instead of replying to them, or training their staff, they just… Bought reviews, to keep their ratio high and weather the storm.

Just insane.

Yep! Not a TON of room on there, but it makes it actually worth having on your network, depending on what you’re doing.

Or maybe just used as a remote button for something, it has a WPS button that can be repurposed

So I set everything to match yours, and after a day, my projected battery was way up. And two days, it’s looking really good.

I guess the dataload watchface is really really heavy.

I’m gonna turn back on some health tracking and turn up the backlight, and see what that does before I tinker with dataload to see if I can calm it down.

Edit: also the screenshot is a Samsung feature. I mostly don’t like Samsung… Anything. But it’s a nice feature.

I have a number of things affecting my battery life, namely the dataload watchface which is really active, has a second hand that updates the screen every second, and increased health tracking, and increased backlight timeout, etc etc.

I could stretch it out more, optimize. But I want these features, so 🤷‍♂️

Winter people probably like bundling up inside. Summer people are outside doing things. Most of my summer people friends, also enjoy winter activities, just maybe not as much as summer.

That’s probably true. It’s one of the things we haven’t tried yet, and I figured most people would be scared off by the idea and call it too complex, even if I said use Bisquick.

A friend of ours has a portable/luggable pizza oven, and they make their own dough, and those pizzas are amazing. Just a lot of work to get everything rolling, so better done as a group while camping or something.
