tar -xvf is the only one I know
And I think it was tar -cvf for creating .tar files?

I mean, surely it can be done, but it’s not a good experience. Simple unix-like configuration files are much better. Yes, I tried Ansible with PowerShell on Windows, it was horrible. I don’t recommend it.
iv.datura.network and invidious.fi have always worked for me, even at 1080p
I heard about it, but I’m totally fine with using Libreddit. I never log in to Reddit and I only need to periodically check 2 subreddits, Libreddit is totally fine for that.
I hate the fact that we need to use their shitty GUI in the first place, why can’t this be done with commamd line tools or by editing configuration files? Something like Ansible would also be great. These are some of the reasons why Windows absolutely doesn’t belong on servers and why Linux is just superior.
Well thankfully I didn’t have to use their stuff since 2020. But back then, it really wasn’t that bad.
Atlassian ain’t that bad, but yeah, Microsoft really sucks at UI/UX design
Also WhatsApp mobile apps
I tried it a few months ago and it was broken, I might give it another shot
Nextcloud Notes is pretty good. Btw Joplin has an option for End-to-end encryption.
For YouTube, use FreeTube, Tubular or LibreTube if you like native clients or Piped and Invidious if you prefer a website.
It’s best not to use Reddit at all, but if you need it for some reason, check out Libreddit or this site
Unfortunately not much can be done to avoid Discord’s terrible UI other than not using it. The Matrix protocol and Element client are pretty nice alternatives.
You can try GNOME’s Authenticator, it’s pretty simple but it gets the job done
I’m pretty sure Bitwarden is profitable, about a year ago they even purchased another company: https://bitwarden.com/blog/bitwarden-extends-passwordless-leadership-with-acquisition/
Also, I don’t think they make that much money from individuals. They focus more on businesses, because they pay more and these customers stay around for a long time, they can’t easily switch to a different solution.
Sure, I’ve been a premium customer for years because I find the service very useful, but this community is all about selfhosting.
You can continue using the cloud hosted version of Bitwarden and only use your own instance for file sharing.
You can selfhost Bitwarden/Vaultwarden (which I recommend, since it’s rewritten in Rust and you get all the premium features for free) and use Bitwarden Send. This is probably more secure than most other options.
My company uses Roundcube for Webmail and offers Thunderbird as a native client. It’s always great to see free software in a corporate environment.
Roundcube should work pretty well for you: https://roundcube.net/
I know, I tried OpenWRT on a Pi, but the experience wasn’t great (at least not as a home router).
I’ve been using Authelia for almost 2 years and I really like it. Never had any issues.
