I like it even less as a date idea. I want to talk to my date not sit quietly next to them for 2 hours, and if it is something that will hinder conversation let’s at least go see some live music or a theater production or something like that. Personally I’d rather go to the nearest botanical gardens.

Not every installation! My job just moved warehouses and had to build bathroom stalls (idk what the last company did but it looked like they held hands while they pooed…anyway). All ours are plastic lol, were probably just as opaque the second they came out of the molds as they are now.

Lol it’s funny to me that theaters think that’s what’ll save them. I don’t go to movies, not because the old seats, but because movies are all terrible remakes and reboots that I don’t want to see, and you have to take out a second mortgage just to be able to afford tickets and snacks. Why would I go? I’ll wait until the torrent pops up if I even want to see it at all, thanks.

I’m leaning real too, the one where the guy destroyed his truck bed by ratchet strapping whatever that is to his wheel well is literally in the HD parking lot and that’s exactly what would happen if someone was stupid enough to try it. But the first one with the “Mazda” logo in the background, that one looks fake as hell, so I’m torn lol.

I can get behind that too, but I was referring to the backlash at the time it was released, it was all “cast people of that race to play a character of that race because inclusion is good.” Iirc there was one around the same time that played a trans person but wasn’t a trans person who received backlash too.

I take it a step further personally, stop remaking anything and if you adapt say a comic or book, stick as close as humanly possible to the source material. Race/genderswapping and reboots for a moneygrab is cool or whatever but can we have good original stories again please?

Don’t forget the beer, but YEAH! You way over prepared for five whole people. If you had invited 10ish, maybe 15 (because then 10 show up), then yeah, but this is waaaay too much for 5. Especially depending on your ages, they may not have expected such hospitality and ate beforehand if they weren’t warned “hey come hungry and sober, there’s food and libations abound,” etc.

Don’t give up, learn from this and adjust a little for next time! Just invite a few more, warn ‘em of the full plans (food, booze, ykwim), or make less food. If you do it regularly (like say Football Sundays at your house) the event will grow and more food will be necessary, but start small! This looks like a good hang, I’d have joined for the food and I don’t even like wrastlin’, just needs some restructuring!
